WÖRTH AM MAIN...CHAPELLE SAINT MARTIN

A l'époque franque, Wörth am Main était un centre d'administration royale. C'est ainsi qu'au VIème siècle après JC, l'église Saint Martin devint un lieu pour les missionnaires chargés d'évangéliser l'arrière pays de l'Odenwald. De nos jours, seul le choeur est encore visible. Devenue chapele, elle se trouve à l'entrée de l'actuel cimetière de Wörth.

Wörth was a centre of the royal administration in the Frankonian period, around the 6th Century AD and St. Martin's church was the missionary centre for christianising the Odenwald hinterland. Only the choir has survived, transformed into St Martin's chapel situated in the modern cemetery.

In fränkischer Zeit, also seit dem 6. Jahrhundert war Wörth ein Zentrum königlicher Herrschaft und mit der St. Martinskapelle im heutigen Friedhof Ausgangspunkt christlicher Misionierung für das Odenwaldhinterland. Vom damaligen Kirchenbau ist nur der Chor in Form der Martinskapelle erhalten.
